Application

The next application period for forest owners starts on May 1, 2025 and ends on July 31, 2025.

Award process

The Expert Commission reviews all applications and selects the most convincing projects at its professional discretion. Within 12 weeks of the application deadline, all applicants will be informed whether their projects have been approved and where they are on the prioritization list.

Project contract

At the end of the calendar year, WeReforest takes stock. Depending on the amount of donations received, applicants are informed whether or not their project can be funded. If WeReforest accepts the project, the project contract is concluded between WeReforest e.V. and the forest owner.

Planting

Once a forestry service provider has been commissioned in accordance with the project contract, planting can start either in spring or fall of the following year (2025).

Schedule

After successful planting, the progress will initially be reported to WeReforest e.V. annually, later every three years by means of photo documentation. In addition, there will be an inspection by WeReforest or commissioned partners. The provisions of the project contract apply.
